ARTIST STATEMENT

COLOR IS MY MATERIAL/EXPRESSION

Color is my material. It is an integral part of most of my work, whether it be oil, acrylic, pastel, or colored pencil. This is complemented by photography, drawing, working with different surfaces, structures, reflections, or movements, and actively intervening in space through transitions into the corporeal and sculptural, or as object art.

Often it is the fragmentary and abstract color elements that fascinate me. I am interested in playing with the unexpected and zooming in and enlarging individual image sections or objects. Therefore, my works are not always immediately legible, and the boundaries between realism and abstraction often blur.

In addition, dealing with one's own feelings, one's own identity and social issues such as belonging or inner feelings of being torn apart also plays a role.
